Slagerij Tol has been on the same corner for over a hundred years, but we do not like to stay in one place. Traveling is in the blood of the Tol family. Great-grandfather Bas traveled all over the world to taste and experience different flavors and cultures, and we continue to explore. In countries from Argentina to Japan, we have tasted culinary delights and learned from top chefs and fellow craftsmen.

We pass on that inspiration, as well as our culinary experience, to our customers. With every product, you’ll receive preparation advice, as well as one of our recipes. These recipes have been extensively tested and proven, which is not always the case with those in cookbooks. You can get inspiration from cookbooks, but it’s our job to guide you in the kitchen. You’ll learn in which direction to cut the meat, how to cook it, or which side dishes go well with your meat product.

At Slagerij Tol, we value old-fashioned craftsmanship and know the Dutch classics. But of course, we also move with the times. We respond to culinary trends in a way that suits us: if you grill our aged steaks on a Big Green Egg, you’ll be sure to get many smiles. Or what about a sous-vide-cooked brisket?
